IRWINDALE, December 25, 2022 – Irwindale Speedway & Event Center and Sunrise Racing are pleased to introduce the Jr. Spec Late Model Series in 2023.
Developed by Sunrise Racing owner and IS&EC co-owner Bob Bruncati, the 2023 Jr. Spec Late Model Series will provide young drivers the opportunity to hone their racing skills in a full-size stock car.
The Drivers: The Jr. Spec Late Model Series will be open for drivers Aged 12-16. Whether the driver is brand new to racing, or an experienced karting, bandolero or legends driver, the Jr. Spec Late Model will be the perfect introduction to full size stock car racing.
The Cars: The Jr. Spec Late Model is a fully spec race car that features; a full-size chassis built by Racecar Factory, 350 hp GM-602 V8 engine, 8″ wheels, 8″ Hoosier 970’s, 3 speed transmission, and 9″ rear gear with full floating housing. All race cars are prepared and delivered by multi-time ARCA and NASCAR West Series champion race team, Sunrise Racing.
The Series: The Jr. Spec Late Model Series will consist of a 10-race schedule at Irwindale Speedway, competing on the 1/3-mile banked oval.
