Irwindale Speedway & Event Center Announces Improvement Plan for “Burnout Box”

 

(May 3rd, 2021) Irwindale, CA – Irwindale Speedway & Event Center is pleased to announce that the “Burnout Box” will be undergoing a renovation project effective immediately. The popular venue typically operates in tandem with Irwindale’s drag strip events and was previously scheduled to reopen on Thursday May 6th. “Bringing back our amazing fans to the Burnout Box is a top priority for all of us at Irwindale Speedway & Event Center. As we got deeper into the planning process, I looked at few things we could do to improve the venue.” Said IS&EC President Tim Huddleston. “After consulting with some outside contractors and my management team, the decision was made to go ahead with the renovation, effective immediately. I think everyone will love the improvements and we could not be more excited about the future of the Burnout Box!”

 

The Burnout Box is a 2,000 seat venue located at IS&EC, where car enthusiast can take their personal vehicles into the “Box” and perform burnouts, donuts and drifts in a safe and controlled environment. Improvements planned include brand new LED lighting, a complete repave of the track surface, and improvements to the overall layout of the venue.

 

The Burnout Box will now return in full force beginning Saturday, June 5th, 2021.

 

Thursday Night Thunder at Irwindale Dragstrip will continue as planned for this Thursday, May 6th, without the Burnout Box. Fans/Competitors who already purchased their tickets for Thursday with the intention of attending the Burnout Box, can choose to attend as Dragstrip Spectators or request a full refund by emailing info@irwindalespeedway.com.
