About the Dragstrip
Irwindale Dragstrip features a 1/8th mile NHRA sanctioned dragstrip with a concrete starting box and a 1/2 mile run-out. Drivers can test & tune, race competitors, and even apply and test for an NHRA license. Open to the public, spectators are always welcome to watch the dragstrip action during Thursday Night Thunder.
About the Burnout Box:
Irwindale Dragstrip’s Burnout Box lets drivers burnout and drift in a fun and safe environment. Paid admission includes driver access to the burnout box (must be at least 18 years of age with valid driver’s license). Spectators are always welcome to watch the burnout box action during Thursday Night Thunder.
Want to take part in the action?
If you want to take your vehicle down the dragstrip or into the burnout box, there’s no skill level required to start! You just need to be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to participate.
Event Schedule:
- Entry Gates Open: 4 PM-9:30 PM
- Drag Strip Tech: 4 PM-9 PM
- Drag Racing: 5 PM-10 PM
- Burnout Box: 6 PM-10 PM

- Parking is included with paid admission!
- Burnout Box participation is free with paid spectator admission (need to sign waiver and receive wristband at tech near Burnout Box)
- Crew Access (starting line/staging lanes) is free with paid spectator admission (need to sign waiver and receive wristband at tech/registration)
- Kids 12 years old and younger are free!
